I have my Y6 sitting on my work bench and have the APM Planner open and I'm running the GCS Mavlink app. Roll and pitch numbers move a little but only  by 0.01 but my YAW number jumps all around. Also the red needle for heading is moving all around too while the copter is sitting still.

I built the DIYDrone "Full ArduPilot Mega kit" and added the optional Triple Axis Magnetometer Rev 1.2 they sell and soldered it on using some pin headers as shown in the wiki. I'm using the latest Y6 firmware from the planner.

I've been having major problems with the YAW moving back and forth in flight randomly and I think this might be the problem.  How can I test to see if this is the Gyro or Magnetometer?

Update: If I disable the Magnetometer and go back into GCS the Yaw number slowly counts down from 350 and the black needle very slowly starts moving counter clockwise.

Update2:  disabled the GPS and the YAW movement stopped. Went out to fly with GPS off and it flew a little better but the YAW is extremely sluggish and when I give YAW left input it seems the copter is way over compensating with throttle up.

The GPS directional vector is not meaningful unless the copter is in motion. We're still working on improving yaw control in the beta AC2, and the Y6 configuration has not been fully tested. My advice is to wait for us to get to that in the testing process. Right now we're focused on quads, but we'll get to Y6 in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the reply Chris!. Wasn't sure if it was something I could tweak to get it to work better or not.
