Cristian , I have work with Li-on batteries and I do not completely agree to what you wrote about.

- These are not "real" 6S packs since the maximum tension of Li-on battery is not the same of Lipo batteries, look at the graph belòw , the blue line fit best scenario.

- The pack capacity in real world is not 21Ah , looking at the datasheet by Panasonic it is quite clear that the usuable capacity correspond to voltage low as 3 volts, so lets say 3100mAh if you have 1C discharge rate, blue line.

These type of batteries can be used on drones with very high efficiency and low Ampère draw, should be around 1C during hovering so 2C during normal flight.

I have done some maths , and the example you gave with 70' flight 5kg AUW works only with a quad with 26" propellers and a 1200 grams payload.

Copters with "normal" props around 15-17" will raise the Ampère drawn and make these batteries type more and more difficult to use because of their maximum 3.1 C rate of discharge.

We can build battery packs virtually in any configuration and geometry, but basic we have three types of systems with 3-cell, 4-cell or 6-cell in series, and up to 15 cells in parallel (see chart from the order page) If you need another cell configuration, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Panasonic NCR18650GA. Never compromise. Ultra durable

Battery quality is extremely important to us. We only use premium Panasonic NCR18650GA lithium-ion type cells (LiNiCoAlO2 chemistry), all same rank, in our battery packs. These kind of cylindrical cells used in electric vehicles Tesla, have at least 70% more energy density per weight, long lifespan and are less heavy than Li-Polymer types.

A battery pack for UAVs assembled with this cell type with specific energy up to 259Wh/kg, it is translated into a 70% longer flight time, or more heavy payloads!

Configuration examples:

Battery pack capacity: 21Ah

Maximum voltage: 25.2V

Weight: +/- 1800g (including wiring harnesses, connectors & covering)
Physical dimensions: 23 x 5.5 x 7cm / 13,5 x 13 x 5,5 cm, or fully customizable on order.
Discharge connector (customizable): XT90, EC5 or 6.5mm Polarized Bullet Connector
Discharge wire type: Flexible silicone insulated copper 12AWG
Discharge wire length (pack to connector end) +/- 100mm
Balance plug: JST-XH 7-pin
Balance wire length (pack to connector end): 40mm
External, the battery pack are covered in Blue/Black PVC film (0.12mm). Inside, the cell block is surrounded with a laminated aramid fiber shield (0.50 mm).

With this kind of battery (6S6P60A) fully charged, a special heavy lift drone used for emergency services or industrial purposes with weighing about 5kg including payload, can continuous fly for 70 minutes or to cover in-flight the equivalent of a surface of 100 hectares (1.000.000 m2)

These kind of battery packs is not protected by an electronic circuitry (BMS), it is manufactured for the use with a external charger with proper protection and balancing circuit for this kind of lithium-ion cells.

All battery packs are precisely designed and carefully assembled in the Netherlands by a CMEC technician , and are intended to use for heavy UAVs which are suitable for various industry applications, such as television broadcasting, signal relay, video surveillance, surveying and mapping, aerial photography, pipeline and powerline patrol, medical aids, agriculture.

As you, we are passionate about drones and agricultural applications. At the moment, we have developed a low-cost camera that would let you know about health of plants and crops through NDVI multispectral analysis.  The good news is that we will launch it by a crowdfunding project in Kickstarter. Here there are the main features of uSense camera.


To drive our product to the right market we would like to know your comments and thoughts regarding the next questions:

Hi Silvio

I used a My Fly Dream flight controller.
I am based in the UK.
I  was involved with RC airships 20 years ago  and have recently returned to it to  develop an update electric powered system that would be practical and affordable for commercial and leisure market, using off the shelf drone components etc.
