Hi All,

I am offered a petrol boat at a very goof price. Just starting with Arduboat, lots of experience with Plane and Copter, but only electric.

Is there a compelling reason NOT to use a non electric boat?

Cheers,

Andreas

Pollution on the water is one.  Most of the ponds I have worked on in communities don't allow internal combustion engines in the water.

Biggest issue for me would be the engine quiting and then having to retrieve the boat. If it is Petrol most those exhaust to the air and not in the water like outboard motors do so direct pollution is less. 2 stroke petrol oil is burned and does drip or smoke after engine is warmed up. Now if it is glow fuel they do use a lot more oil and drip oil out of the exhaust. Glow fuel is very pricey these days as well
