Has anyone tried to set up the ardupilot on an align 550 fbl set up. I'm a newbie when it comes to setting up the ardupilot only just had flying round in a fixed wing for some instrument tests.

Does anyone know where to get longer cables for the x bee modules and the gps modules?

Regards

Not many people come here.

I haven't heard of a 550 being used yet, but it should be same as a 600 which I've done.

The Xbee cables can be made longer just by using new servo crimp plugs and reuse the Xbee 5 pin connector housings.  There are long-ish wires for the GPS available.

Here is some info: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/ardupilot-apm-2-0-helicopter-se...

as far as the xbee cable as far as i know there is only one length for sale but you can splice wire in to make it longer

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the guidance, it looks like it is very possible, but maybe better to start with a cheap er helicopter untill I know what I'm doing. I am thinking possibly a belt cp v2 or similar.
