Hi everyone:

Does anyone know how to make a "canopy" like the arducopter in the pic http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/ArduCopter2

I mean, what covers the electronics parts.

   Thank you in advance

Hi,

That's a CD case.

Really? I thought so. But I wonder how the sizes match so well.

Thank you

"But I wonder how the sizes match so well."

Sometimes chance is on our side...  ;)

The CD spindle case is a popular choice for using as a canopy. However, I chose a Rubbermaid container with a snap-lock lid and I'm glad I did- Rubbermaid containers, while a bit heavy, are nearly indestructible.

There are no chances ;)

I've used a small plastic box used to store food, like those from tupperware. They come in different sizes, shapes and colors :)

I have some detailed instructions for using a 30 or 50 disk case here: http://roboticdreams.wordpress.com/2011/09/10/arducopter-customizat....  Look for 'Enclose the Electronics'.

Enjoy,

Mike

CD spindle cases are perfect. I used a small one that got a bit damaged and switched to a bigger 50-disc case, which unfortunately is also much heavier built. My only problem is that I don't use optical media these days and I don't have a selection of empty cases. Hardly anyone seems to have them either and you can't buy empty ones! ;)

I bought mine on Amazon and the same person sells them on E-bay. Try this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VKUSMQ or http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=cake+box+beehive+&_cqr=true.... They are available in all sorts of sizes.
