I have just started using APM1 board. I wanted to upload the quadcopter firmware to my apm board but compiling error is occuring there as shown in the attached screenshot. So I tried to upload the firmware using mission planner but the latest version is saying that your hardware memory is not sufficient for this firmware. So now I want to upload any version of firmware to my apm board. So can you help me regarding this?

Well, first of all you can't use regular version of Arduino, but instead use the relax patch wich can be found here : http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/downloads/detail?name=ardui...

Second if you have the 1280 based board, you must make some changes to reduce the compiled code to fit in memory and disable logs. If you search at the thread Arducopter 2.6 released ! I believe there are some folks there sugesting what changes to make (http://diydrones.com/xn/detail/705844%3ATopic%3A891565).

Make sure you have both the arducopter and libraries directories in your ardiuno directory.
Upgrade to ardiuno 1.0.1 or whatever the current version is. You don't need relax patch with the new versions.

Close ardiuno and reopen any time you change anything in libraries

Upgrade to ArduPilot 2650, the 1280 is too small for arducopter or ArduPlane, and requires that you strip away features. It does, however, work for smaller projects (boats, rovers, trackers, etc)

Yes, as Mike says, relax patch isn't required any more as it was put into the main arduino code as part of 1.0.1.  I might deprecate the arduino.zip in the downloads area.  We're also thinking about renaming everything to .ino so maybe do it at the same time.

Sorry, somewhat random ramblings from me not exactly related to Vishal's troubles.

I have to use 1280 only because of our low budget. We can't purchase 2650. The same compiling error occurs in Arduino 1.0.1.

So is there anyway that I can still use this 1280 and build my Quadcopter?
