Recently I changed the Auto_land to 10000 and now I was out in the feild and it came back to me on the RTL command. And then It would never land. I looked at the Values when I got back and the it says -2147484000. It will not let me change this. Everytime I try to write new Params it just goes right back to this number.
Any I idea what I have done?

You've overflowed the value.
Try a smaller value like 900.

Jason,
That param is Int32. 10000 isn't an overflow of Int32, although the value does appear to be the result of an overflow. That is strange, isn't it?

Did you recently update your firmware?
Permalink Reply by Bradley J Carr on April 23, 2012 at 10:45am I am still on the 2.5.3. I have not yet updated to the 2.5.4
Permalink Reply by Bradley J Carr on April 23, 2012 at 10:49am Just tried 900. Still went right back to it. But when I hit the write prama button it doesn't seem like anything is happening. Here in a minute I am going to try to change something else and see what happens
Permalink Reply by Bradley J Carr on April 23, 2012 at 12:55pm Now I am on to resetting everything and starting over. I am using the reset in the CLI. How long does this take? I have a bunch of Jib jab coming up on the screen. I say Jib Jab because I have no idea what it is!

From the CLI you need to hit your Enter key three times for it to give you the CLI menu. What I do is just hold down my Enter key until the menu comes up.
The type "setup" (without the quotes), hit enter, then type "reset", hit enter, then I think you need to enter the letter "Y" and hit enter.
Permalink Reply by Bradley J Carr on April 23, 2012 at 1:04pm Yes and then you have to reboot the APM. Now I have had alot of stuff coming up in the mission planner. How long does this usually take. It have been almost seven minutes.

The board does not reboot itself at that point. You need to disconnect and do a full power cycle manually. Then reconnect and you will have a fresh board.
Permalink Reply by Bradley J Carr on April 23, 2012 at 1:30pm We have run into alot of problems. I uploaded 2.5.4 and with the newest mission planner.
1. Cant change modes on channel 5
2. would not turn on sonar and the mad declination would not save
3. As soon as I completed the radio setup and then uploaded 3dr prams. One motor started turning and then when I uplugged the usb the motors beeped.
4. Armed quad and only had three motors.
