Is there anything (barring motor thrust axes being misaligned) that would cause an opposing pair of motors to overheat? I'm guessing my quad is fighting yaw because of opposing pair part.…Continue

Comment by Maki, Eric J on April 16, 2012 at 8:38am New firmware (2.5.3) for AC is GREAT! Its the most stable and smooth I have yet to see. Good work Devel team and thank you! I am so glad I put my money and energy into ArduCopter.
Comment by Bradley J Carr on April 12, 2012 at 5:24am Finally made it out yesterday to try to automated flight with my quad. Couldn't get my laptop to connect when I was at the airport. (Small town airport. We see one plane a month.) Anyway, found out I had a USB problem with the computer. Got home and tried the computer again and it worked. As I was playing with the quad in the front yard one of the motors came apart. The C-Clip on the motor had broke. It was close when the prop went buzzing by my right ear. I protection is almost a must.
Comment by Bradley J Carr on April 10, 2012 at 1:09pm Hello Bradley. Having done some auto flights with my quad, I can tell you that your home location will be set to the point where you arm the copter and take off. It's very important you have a solid gps lock before doing so.

Comment by Bradley J Carr on April 10, 2012 at 12:44pm Getting ready for my first Auto FLight with my 3DR quad. One question before I go. I have mission planner up and running and going to make a flight plan before I head out. When I get out there will the home alt and coordinates lock, Since I can't set those unless I am out there with the computer.
Comment by Wessie on April 10, 2012 at 12:03am @Andre - I used to put the Yaw D value to 6 before, that gave me a crisper rudder command. Try it, let me know if it has the desired effect.

Comment by Andre Kotze on April 7, 2012 at 6:34am Which PID value would I adjust to make my quad's rudder input more sensitive?
Comment by Jason on April 3, 2012 at 3:28pm Ian, I have/had some trouble like this on my Jdrones Hexa... under the "Motors" command, my motors started firing out of order, instead of starting with motor 1 like it should on the hexa in + config... it started with #4 and continued around the loop. I couldn't get help on it yet, but logically, I figured if I move all my ESC jumpers 1 slot ccw, it should line my motors up properly... it didn't, they moved one more slot further away on cw.... I am going to try and go the other direction now and see what happens tonight.
Comment by Mark Slater on April 3, 2012 at 10:57am @Ian, I had some trouble with Oct configuration. The correct connections are here
