Comment by Bradley J Carr on March 20, 2012 at 5:23am BEC? I have seen this term a couple of times what does it mean? I checked everything on the PDB and found nothing is wrong. I can take another ESC and plug anywhere on the PDB and it will work. Just one ESC is not working with the PDB but it will work as soon as I plug into the RX
Comment by Jiro Hattori on March 20, 2012 at 5:09am I found smiler issue of initialization of BEC and some reason. The APM2 or post firmware of AC2.4 may have sensitivity to the voltage of power supply. You may have some drop down of voltage on PDB by some reasons; wiring, soldering, cable size and so on. Any idea for this?

Comment by Ramesh Tahlan on March 19, 2012 at 9:14pm Aerhead,
i just did 5 test flights outdoors today, APM2, and in all case i forgot to disarm ESCs with Rx stick in all the excitement, and just disconnected the lipos form quad, and then switched off Tx, but in each case i was able to arm ESCs with anyproblem for the next fight... ????...so that is a mistery why there should be problem if one does not disarm and sw off everything. But here is one thing that happens with me, whenever i connect lipos, the blue and red light dont come on and flash together, on the blue light goes solid, so since red not flashing i cannot arm, so now i disconnect lipos and connect again and eveything works super, and this happens every time, i just have to connect power, disconnect power, connect power again and every thing is fine.... wonder if someone has a explanation so this.... but i just love the test flight, it felt awesome....Salute DIY team.

I've been fighting the same problem for days. I think I found the reason for the arming problem.
If you unplug the USB without clicking on the DISCONNECT button the APM 2 board will not arm after you connect the battery.
To bring the board back so you can arm, just plugin the USB and open the Terminal screen. What for a minute and you'll see both LEDs are flashing.
Now the important part. CLICK on the DISCONNECT button and the board should work when you connect power. If it still won't arm try just waiting 10 minutes to plug it in.
Good luck

Comment by Bradley J Carr on March 19, 2012 at 12:38pm I need some help pretty bad.
I have calibrated all ESC's and Motors. each one works. Then when I go to test the motors in the CLI they do not spin up. Also when I use the Tranmitter and arm the motors the little green light becomes solid but nothing happens.
if i buy the xbee pro xsc from digikey will it work with diydrones adapter boards ? thanks for any help

Add sonar - Yes.
Comment by Bradley J Carr on March 13, 2012 at 7:43am Question in general. If i were to add sonar to the quadcopter would this help with softer landing and better altitude hold?
Comment by Bradley J Carr on March 12, 2012 at 1:39pm Upon further review, I used a good ohm meter that I have here at work and checked the leads. Looks like the blue wire has the open in it. Since it is new I really can't open it up and see if I can fix it. 3drobotics is going to send out a motor when they get this one back.
