Nice CUB, I don't run anything that's not electric.  I have a big Champ to get backup into the air though.  Looks like fun.

I posted earlier from my tablet, which doesn't allow me to type quickly.  I'll provide additional details.

I run from an Spektrum DX6 with just the two position switch for aux stuff.  Both the 2nd and 3rd settings are set to stabilize, 1 is of course Manual.  I ran the debug program and see that only postion 2 and one are the options at play.  (in the past I did have what you said happen, turns out I had some mixing enabled for flaperons. this caused the serial monitor to record that 2 and 3 would switch back and forth every time the Channel 1 was turned on.  Removed mixing, problem solved.)

Anyway, I did run through the diagnostic options as well as play with some of the throttle settings in AP(l) v2.71.  I could get the throttle to not come on by setting values to 0, but this cause it not to respond to manual throttle changes.  All other settings I tried had the same result.  Throttle stick set to no gas, turn on the switch and WOT.  Once engaged  the throttle would not adjust to input from the stick, dis-engage and cut off back to no gas, but fully responsive to stick.

I'm going to download a fresh copy and try from there but was hoping to come across a clue...

Any ideas?

as i mentioned in an earlier post i set mine for manual, stab, stab to avoid any thing different while troubleshooting the firmware and settings

is it just Manual and stab as an option or is there a 3rd choice too, i found my switch was sometimes selecting the 3rd instead sometimes and also sometimes it was going to auto when i loose radio signal and the motor would spin up

Not sure if I've really got it figured out.  I went back to the Ublox application and just let it run and it took forever for it to get a fix, so it was probably just bad view of the sky.  The IMU would show a fix then no fix and the app wouldnt show a fix at all, so dont know why really.  The app needed me to hit "debug messages" to see what was going on.  I dont think the IMU uses anything but the simplest messages.  I just dont know.

It kinda bothers me to think the IMU would accept a bad fix.  That happened once with the EM406 and it was 4 miles off.  If I had hit auto it would have been bye bye at least until it got a better fix.
