Hi guys!I'm Rafa, and I'm studying science at my high school. We have a great project to do: build an ArduCopter UAV. We've alredy bought some pieces, we've built the body, but, unfortunately, we're…Continue

It seems we need a coder or two, and a plan. Maybe the first part of the plan would be to fix a few small things and then later explore the capabilities further. My coding is rudimentary at best, anyone keen to help?
Still keen to explore the mileage in this mini wonder
Comment by Dr Mike Black on August 29, 2011 at 12:45pm HI all,
Brian, back in the world again( on been home a couple of hours), and now that, my 'prior' engagements are now fullfilled, time is somewhat easier.
Tomorrow i will go get my files from work an PM them.
@Lyn, at first glance, going form 6DoF to 9DoF isnt rocket science, (obviously more investigation is required) but let have a good look into it see what can be done.
as you say no GPS port, but lets face it..the GPS port is simply an I/O on pins..so im sure it can be brutalised into being made to work and its a ardu328...so the code in std form would run...im sure the data would be wrong..but hey thats that this is all about....lets see if we can create an 'in fill'
Well spotted!
regards,
Mike.
Comment by Lyn Rees on August 23, 2011 at 4:34pm Sorry I'm late joining the party! Do you guys think the Mongoose IMU could be made to work as a replacement for the ArduIMU? I appreciate it has no dedicated GPS input but I'm sure the GPio's could be made to work. What do you think?

Comment by Dr Mike Black on August 19, 2011 at 3:14pm Hey guys,
Off down south this weekend for work, but when i get back, im happy to email over my complete code on all 3 versions..
All fly well, but if it helps, the main changes in teh later versions was the divider..
7 deg was 70 then becam 700, PID was .35 for eg, then became 0.035, whic gave better scope for accuracy ( and something to do with the GCS, which eludes me at the moment, slept since then)
dont know if this is any good to you.
Mike.

@Brian: do you know what version the red boards use, as I still have all my old config files from when I used a 168 (red) board. I think the version was 2.4 but I may be wrong.

@Brian: I only fly the red boards (Atmega 328) running v2.7.1, one on an own-design 148cm (58") twin boom pusher plane and the other on a GWS Slowstick (new own-design wing). I can send you my config files if that helps?
Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.185 members
