Arghhhhhhhhh
Had enough now
It was bad enough not being able to get any answers to getting the old firmware tuned for loiter etc
Upgraded to 2.6 and mav 1.0 and find that I have to re do all the PID stuff
Don't have Xbee or telemetry so it's a very slow process and just can't be bothered
Also discovered during trying to do the PID's with 2.6 that the alt hold has changed and as soon as you click to Loiter you have to very quickly set the throttle to 50% stick otherwise it will fall like a brick and break the landing gear :( not impressed
Anyone in the UK want to buy my APM2 it's £150 plus postage

I ask that as there's no way that 10 inch props are going to fly a 1.9kg AUW quad (I mean fly not just lift)

You could try? mine weighs 2.2kg with camera and I only have three motors? you have four.. It will fly on 3s also but too sluggish for my liking? make sure your setup will support 4s lipo before plugging it in..

I have rebuilt the broken legs and reset the APM2 to defaults and will try once more
Firstly all as standard to make sure it wasn't something that went wrong with the update and then move on to changing Rate_P first on CH6
Thanks for all the help folks
Permalink Reply by Andre on July 9, 2012 at 9:30am I decide to take it off my Y6 and put my Rabbit Fc back on and with stock settings it fly very well no more yaw issues.
I will only use my apm2 for fix wing and see how it goes.
Permalink Reply by Terry Brooks on July 18, 2012 at 3:51am Oh well
No takers
Such a shame that there's little to no support for this from the producers
I would have kept mine had I not uploaded the 2.6 firmware but as it is now it's pretty damned useless to me
Reduced to £130 UK residents only plus postage

You can always load older versions of the software although I've found niggling issues with most of the recent stuff. Even when the hardware is well set up (and paid for) you're reliant on software that has no guarantee. That said - it does work (with a little help) and is well supported.
I'll take the APM if its still available.
Permalink Reply by Terry Brooks on August 6, 2012 at 1:08pm Sorry Selwyn, Only just checked back in here
Yes no takers and no advice that has helped so it's still available for sale
Permalink Reply by Selwyn Phillips on August 7, 2012 at 12:01pm Bought a new one - so not needed at the moment.
If I lived a little closer I would offer to have a go at fixing your quad.
I'm due to visit my brother in Fishguard soon - wherabouts are you?
