I thought it was about time to start a U.K group, mainly due to the time difference between us and USA, so members can discuss their issues here and hopefully get the help they require sooner? Also it possible there is someone living not far away from yourself that you could swap ideas with and get first hand help and advice with your project.

Comment by Rob Haines on July 13, 2012 at 1:06am Hi Dudz, here's a pic of my Y6. I've make some landing gear from carbon fibre. There's about 5mm of clearance from the props. I've then duck taped fibreglass rods in a X while im learning.
When i get a spare couple of hours ill cut somthing like this for the upper and lower props that will also act at landing gear...

Comment by dudz on July 12, 2012 at 11:07pm Hi Dean,
Yes I am aware of that. I am very limited to landing gear on the Y6, as most gets in the way of the props.
Comment by malcolm churn on July 12, 2012 at 3:10pm Hi martin, did the Ublox Gps arrive today? i'll pop down tomorrow if they did :)

Do you know that on a Tricopter the rear motor has to be able to move on a servo?
Comment by Ovidiu Sopa on July 12, 2012 at 10:35am Dudz, maybe you can search for my posts at fpvlabs forum where I posted alot of photos about my landing gear, I'm a complete newbie with RC, just started in january to order things, in march I had for the first time ana RC radio in my hand .. since than I tried to improve my tricopter to better fit to my needs

Belive me , those landing gears save more than a few props. I'm very happy about them.
PS. I fly using 6000mAh lipo and 250 grams compact camera.
Comment by dudz on July 12, 2012 at 10:14am A question please...Is the only advantage on a Y6 to a tricopter, the ability to still fly if one motor cuts out ? .... I am thinking maybe I could rebuild it as a tri and use a lighter battery, give me the same flight times. But also breaking less props on slightly heavy landings ? What do you think ?
Comment by dudz on July 12, 2012 at 9:43am Good idea Techshop. Might do that.
Looks like logs were full, and did'nt record this one. Cant find it. Maybe cause I switched the tx off, it continued on its own ? like failsafe.
