Comment by Stephen Gloor on April 6, 2013 at 5:58pm AUTO and RTL is all OK.
Flew my first auto mission perfectly this morning in 15kt winds.
The Finwing Penguin is the best plane I have ever flown - flew on rails in a strong wind
Comment by Stephen Gloor on March 29, 2013 at 6:16pm Success on my first APM flight. The Penguin as usual flew like it was on rails.
Tested manual and stabilise mode which both worked perfectly.
Tested the mavlink and ground station - all worked OK
Analysing the logs now to make sure there are no nasties hidden before I try an automatic flight.

Comment by JB on March 13, 2013 at 7:44am Hey John,
Were you interested in coming to the meet about the OBC as well on Sunday?
Anyone else otherwise?...Would be good to catch up with everyone in the area with the same interests. Coming to the meet isn't committing to the OBC btw!
Cya soon
Regards
JB
Comment by JB on March 12, 2013 at 9:06am Hai yeah I know...it's still along way to go. I'd rather rush into it now rather than stress to meet a deadline later! but we still have plenty of time. I'd like to actually "practice" searching for Joe long before we actually have to. I plan on including most of my family, my boys are already involved in RC etc. But time management and planning is key. No good if we go broke or damage a relationship in the course of pursueing the OBC. There's no fun in that!
Stephen you have mail!

@JB nice! just remember the OBC isn't a 100m sprint it's more like an Ironman triathlon!
We need to train hard and pace ourselves.
Don't forget we have families and jobs that will demand our time.
