Not sure it's good for the GPS to be in that dome... some people reported damaging the units... like signal bouncing back issue...

A GPS doesn't transmit anything to bounce back, it just listens to the GPS satellite signals. Testing will confirm if the clear perspex is a major barrier to satellite reception or not.
The only damage I can envisage is if I slam it into the ground inverted, in which case it's probably better to have the dome than not have the GPS protected. The unit does not get hot so heat won't be an issue either.
There are no transmitting electronics under the dome so we can rule out that bouncing back issue.
