"I'm using a 220mah 3S battery for the videotransmitter, but perhaps a smaller battery. My video tx doesn't heat substantially."

"yes, 2 bateries. One for the hexa's motors and , and another to feed the video transmitter and the camera. The main battery is on the bottom, and another smaller on the side counterweitghting the videotransmitters's weight."

António Cabral replied to Paul Mikesell's discussion MinimOSD not getting APM updates
"I advise you to try it first with a normal TV with the RCA plugs to see if it's receiving anything. If it doesn't work, try all the channels available. Mine was configured to transmit by channel #8. If you get the video feed and it keeps on…"

PID: What's it for and how does it work?

As my first blog post in diydrones I'd like to show, specially to other noobies what is the so much talked PID so much used in our Arducopters and Arduplanes. This video has substitles also in english and russian but you have to select it to activate them.It shows in a very dummy but effective way what PID is, and hope it makes things more clear for those who need it, so when you re-read again those tutorials, things can make more sense.See More

Randy replied to António Cabral's discussion ESC problem? What does this means? in the group ArduCopter User Group
"The beeping means that the ESC hasn't received a low pwm signal yet so it's telling you, "hey! the throttle is too high so I'm not going to spin!". What's likely happening is that the ESC hasn't been calibrated so…"

ESC problem? What does this means?

Hello all.Since I've bought this awesome machine RTF from udrones in december and that arm has always given this "nuisance" of beeping for a while untill it stops and gets ready to fly normaly.Since I started flying with it I had a few crashes and changed already 2 motors, one of which was in that arm.In the beginning I thought it was a motor's problem, but having it substituted it became cleared that it's an ESC problem, passing from 10/20 seconds of beeping in the beginning to some times over…See More

"Hello. As principle I recharge my batteries always in the BALANCE mode, to make all cells ballanced all the time, bu now you're making me have doubts. Should I recharge in the CHARGE mode as rule, and BALANCE mode in those intervals you've…"
