Is there any support for running this on Android.  It would be great to run this from a tablet.  I guess the most difficult part would be getting the tablet to talk to an Xbee.Continue

I am an UAS Operations student at UND and this is my current project, not school related.  This is a Giant Telemaster (12ft wingspan) that was built from a kit and flown for a few years.  The…Continue

"Jonathan we have talked about this already in these comments. In fact the entire section was posted but as patrick said it seems to lay out an exmption to future UAS regulations. I agree many people are unaware of it.  I read it the day it was…"

"My mistake, it seemed directed at Patrick. And yes I think the person flying near JFK is an idiot.  However I see no problem, legally or otherwise, with flying above 400 feet.  Now within the vicinity of an airport is a different story.…"

"Elvis- When did he ever say flying 1500 agl on the approach end of a runway was a good idea?  We are simply talking about the legal side of operating model aircraft in the NAS. I seriously doubt you read through all the pages of comments.…"

"Jonathan- You do not need clearance to fly VFR in Class E.  There are tons of flights everyday that travel through Class G and E and never talk to ATC or file a flight plan.   Also I don't think Patrick…"

Charles K Taylor commented on Matthew Beck's blog post Pilot Spots Possible Drone 1,500 Feet Above NYC's JFK Airport... FAA launches investigation
"I apologize for sounding harsh but there is a difference between controlled airspace and the need for an IFR clearance. ATC is required to provide IFR services if requested in Class E but a VFR flight does not require an IFR flight plan to enter…"

"Jonathan that is not how it works. Please show us where it says model aircraft are tied into all that.... They are not. Plus IFR required in Class E? Maybe it is time to go back to ground school."

"Brent-- That is public law released last year not the Advisory Circular. Patrick-- I think I understand what you and the that section is saying now, thanks.  But since it also defines model aircraft as being flown visual line of sight would…"

Charles K Taylor commented on Matthew Beck's blog post Pilot Spots Possible Drone 1,500 Feet Above NYC's JFK Airport... FAA launches investigation
"I am not a lawyer so Patrick can add more to this but there is no mention of specific airspace or altitude restrictions. The only to big restrictions I can see is visual line of sight, so being able to see your aircraft at all times. Also, section…"

"I am definately interested in this project. By the way the 400' limit is only within 3 miles of an airport according to AMA rules and the FAA says to coordinate with 5 miles of airport.  So it is perfectly legal to fly higher than…"

"I flew for about 1 hour 50 mintues orbiting at 1000 agl (1300 msl) on a 2 4s 5000mah lipos with a 800mw video tx running.  People need to remember that just because you can add more batteries doesn't mean it will increase your endurance.…"
