I was flying my hex today, as I was headed toward my current position it decided to not respond to my controls and keep going over me. It was about 100 feet up then looked to increase altitude a bit…Continue

"If I recall I took a look at the board and could not figure it out. My only assumption is some sort of failure in the Atmega32u"

"Colin, did you ever sort this out? One of my boards is suddenly doing the same thing. It flies a quad fine but USB, telemetry and even connecting through the CLI are all non-responsive."

"Hi, For MAVLink, use 57600. For firmware upgrades, select 115200 and do not connect. You will have to push the reset button about the same time as you start upload. Regards Soren"

"Hi, setting COM6 to 115200 baud in Mission Planner won't let me connect to the APM anymore. Does UART0 support 115200? Can I change the baud rate for the bootloader? I never changed any baudrates on the APM. Where and how can I change these?"

"You can reduce the wear on the USB port by connecting a short micro USB cable, and then connecting a USB extension cable."

"Can I ask what version of APM do you have and how did you broke it ? I'm using USB port very often and  I would be very disappointed if it's happen to mine... : / Is there any way to prevent this ? Thanks "

Søren Kuula replied to Colin Sadler's discussion USB connection broke, alternative?
"Hi, Oh in that case do use the telemetry port and an USB to serial adapter such as the FTDI ones. You should be able to connect the adapter to the "telemetry port" (JP4) and leave SJ105 and 106 in default state. If that does not work,…"

"see http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/SolderJumpers On the bottom of the board is UART0 pin-outs, you can connect an FTDI cable to that and still use your board. OTA, I am not sure, technically there isn't a reason why you…"
