I have been using the Ardupilot for a while now with Xbees 2.4ghz 60mw and the other day i flew out to 1.7km and the rssi was at 70 - 80% and then i fly the same route tonight and the telemetry pretty much drops out at 1.5km. I haven't touch the setup during that time the only difference i can think of is the other day it was overcast and tonight there were no clouds at all. I am flying over very hilly terrain as well  See More

APM going into RTL

I flew my plane for the first time in many months yesterday with APM1 2650,  Arduplane v2.65 and the latest mission planner. I flew around in manual for a while and the motor would cut out for no reason then start back up. Then when i went to take off again the motor cut out again and it almost crashed. Looking at the telemetry logs it turns out it was going into RTL which was not being done by my controller and the short and long failsafe was disabled but the throttle one wasn't any ideas? .…See More

"So it is because that waypoint is below my home location? If i change the default alt will it be fine then?"

"Hi Chris No I haven't, I was just an observation, I don't see it as an issue, just something people need to be aware of. At the time it seemed I was the only person experiencing it."

"Hi Danny I've posted about exactly the same behavior. When the apm navigates to a lower waypoint it takes it's time, but when it reached the end of program and it's at a higher altitude than default altitude, it will drop like a…"

"It does a similar thing when it is coming back to home and it is at lets say 200m and the home alt is set at 100m then it pretty much nose dives to that altitude but not as steeply as this time."

"Does the datalogging stop or pause when the issue occurred? That would be a sign of a power brownout.   "
