Maxbotix XL-EZ0 (MB1200) Sonar Sensor Stops Working At Low Temperatures

Started this discussion. Last reply by MaxBotix Inc Aug 27, 2012. 1 Reply

I've started having intermittent problems with the sonar sensor on my quad.  It has performed very well up until recently.  It is now winter (in southern Australia).  One morning, I flew in…Continue

Tricopter Tail Servo Problems

Started this discussion. Last reply by Duy Pham Dec 10, 2011. 5 Replies

I've built a Tricopter which has worked OK using a KK controller board.  Recently, I decided to upgrade to an Arducopter board in the hope of better performance and much greater functionality. …Continue

Dave replied to Shyam Balasubramanian's discussion Best Battery for Arducopter Quad-C frame
"The C rating specifies the maximum continuous current a battery can safely deliver.  So a 20C battery can deliver 20 x the amp-hour rating of the battery continuously.  Batteries often have a rating of say 20C / 30C.  The 30C rating…"

"You don't give any details of the battery, but it's probably a brownout from low battery voltage because the battery can't handle the current drain. Get a proper LiPo - say 5AH and 30C."

Maxbotix XL-EZ0 (MB1200) Sonar Sensor Stops Working At Low Temperatures

I've started having intermittent problems with the sonar sensor on my quad.  It has performed very well up until recently.  It is now winter (in southern Australia).  One morning, I flew in temperatures of around 5C and the MB1200 gave zero output (20 cm) for the entire flight.  I went back to the workshop to debug the problem, but it then gave correct readings and nothing I did could provoke any fault.  It also continued to operate correctly that afternoon in warmer weather. More recently, I…See More
