About Me:
High school grad. who is now enlisted active duty in the AF working on the F22. I had a acceptance to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University but enlisted due to costs and some odd circumstances. I have plans for jumping to officer ranks and my ultimate goal is to fly aircraft for the AF. I do rc, want to do fpv and larger scale drones. I am an amateur aircraft designer with several textbooks and a RDS Software.
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
my squadron came to me one day and told me they wanted a SAR UAV. It was to be a cross between a U-2 reaper and a A-10. In the end there were two designs. The FAA's regulations prevented us from building it. Now im working on a long range, cheap, crash resistance, easy to replace cargo carrier. I want it to be able to fly 5 miles parachute a 14 oz bottle of soda and fly back. Iv got other stuff in the mix, some really good ideas, others...not so much but im stubborn.

Old History with new twists: lessons from world war two for drone cargo concepts

I taught History for my cadets In civil air patrol for all four years of High school, and I did do some teaching on the subject of how the Army used transport gliders. Back in the Day the Army made several gliders that could be towed by DC-10's,  piloted by an Army Airborne officer or sergeant, land on rough terrain at the same time as others, take punishment, and be…

Well they are blue and I had the place that prints all the stuff on the city police cars print them for me. They could not get the details I wanted in the Badge but the rest was great are you wanting to fix one like that. If so I have an extra set of decals I can send you but they do not have the sparkles in them. They are blue.

Hi Emery,  The model airplane you asked about is made of balsa with some Plywood hard points and epoxy-fiberglass skin strength added in the wing-motor-landing gear areas.  The fuselage construction is simple on a flat table top, however the wing was built on a custom made gig.  The  dimensions are attached.  A Clark-Y airfoil could be a better choice the the symmetrical air foil I used.

Following is a link to the full photo after conversion from Veco .61's to electric power.  It has plenty of power at 18.5 Lbs and still flies very nicely.

The airplane originally flew in 1974 at Vandenberg Air Force Base where I carried up an Air Weather Service Radiosonde - photos seen:
