Ideal Motors for Quadcopters:

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 6:05am 12 Comments

While searching for the Ideal motors I figured out few things which will give smooth flight and long battery life

1. Should be low Kv

2. Should have enough torque. May be the motors with more outer dia are better

3. Should have very low weight

4. Should be using very low current while on low load. but spinning bigger props

5. CNC light weight casings

6. Should be using Neodmium high temp magnets

7. High quality lamination 0.2mm stator sheet…

Pushing DJI to limits

Just further pushing what DJI wookong M can do

What I did is removed one motor from standard Jdrones motor with Gaui 500X GM412 and used 11 X 5 Graupner prop. Rest of the threee motors are standard jdrones motors with 10" props.

The only difference was controls became more sensititve. Maybe a PID setting would have helped more. This video was made when the DJI was in Manual…

The other thing the quad was doing it was not coming to stabilize position when I centered the joystick. This is because of the uneven cushion I placed above table. The settings are

Joystick: Saitek…
