Hey folks,I have a 9XR that i just started using to fly my APM deadcat quad with. The problem is that the throttle stick is way too sensitive for me.I used to fly the quad with a cheaper radio set and…Continue

"I can't believe no one bothered to answer your query. Yes, APM2 will work just fine as a stabilizer and you don't need to connect external sensors. I do this myself and it's a good use for old APM2s. You can even use the mode features…"

Need sensors attached for stabilize mode?

Hi folks,I am looking at using an APM2.5 i have spare from an old quadcopter to put into one of my planes.I am looking at only using the stabilize flight mode, and use the apm as just a really good stabilizer - as my current orangerx stabilizer just stabilizes big sudden movements and doesn't return the plane to level (like the APM will?).Do i need to have the GPS module connected for the stabilize mode to work? I am not sure if my gps module has an external compass or not. Does the stabilize…See More

"No one knows how harmonics in relation to radio waves work? Will the 1.2Ghz affect the 433mhz? Or only the other way around?"

"Can i disable the compass? Using the MAG_ENABLE parameter or do i need the compass to control yaw, or will the accelorometers handle that?"

"I also just got a 'Pre-arm check mag field' error. I wonder if it is getting these when i am trying to arm the quad. I never got those errors before - so how can my fpv gear be causing mag error, and how can i fix it if it is the problem?"

Troubles Arming after adding FPV gear to Quad

Hey folks, I am having some issues arming my APM 2.5 quadcopter after adding some fpv gear to it.I have an Deadcat frame, with 1.2ghz for FPV, 900mhz for telemetry, and 433mhz for RC.I dont really use the telemetry radios, so i am not worried about the the FPV at 1.2 being so close in frequency.I have one servo for tilt on the FPV cam that is running of my receiver which gets its power through the APM.When the servo is plugged in the APM goes crazy, mission planner 'ends unexpectedly' and it…See More
