Triggering Canon S110 via USB off APM 2.5 Side Rail

Hello,I am trying to trigger my Canon S110 using a USB gentwire cable from Gentles and CHDK. I have seen the guide on copter.ardupilot.com but it relies on using Channel 7 Output pin and as I have an octocopter I can't do that.I have a couple questions on configuration using the side rail e.g. A9 or A10.1) Which pin should I connect my gentwire to on the APM2.5?!2) Do I need to insert a jumper to ensure the rail power requirements are met on the APM?2) How do I configure this in the mission…See More

"Added weight can make the motors work harder and cause your ESC to get warm. Warm ESC is not a real problem. Hot ESC would be a problem."

ESCs and Motors warm with addition of 2 axis gimbal?

Hello,I've been flying my X8 for a while and have now added a gimbal. Having just been flying around for a gimbal test flight, I noticed that my ESCs and motors where warm whereas I have not noticed this before. Is it possible that the addition of my 2 axis brushless gimbal is causing this?Motors, APM and gimbal control board are powered directly from two 4s batteries.ThanksSee More

Hello,Just looking at my logs and there's a strange ThrOut spike which deviates from ThrIn. It's quite windy so I didn't exactly notice it whilst flying.I have a Spektrum DX7S and AR8000. I have seen these before and thought I had solved it by changing the frame rate to 11.Any ideas?Logs attached - spike is right in the middle of the flight.See More

"Hi John, This looks great - exactly what I've been looking for. Is it possible to configure it so as the camera faces vertically down for aerial mapping purposes? Thanks"

Arm dip - intermittent motor cut out? Weird ThrOut

Hello,Was flying my quad for about the 5th time yesterday with the new latest 3.0.1. It was pretty windy (10-15kts) but after a good 5 minutes of flight in stabilize I put it into loiter. It was great! And with no tuning of the default PIDs! So much better than 2.9 where every now and again it would toilet bowl. After about 5 minutes in loiter happily maintaining position, it suddenly lurched over in roll as if one motor had cut out. It then recovered but I put it back in to stabilize and as I…See More
