"I am having same problem as Rick is having.
My take offs are nice and smooth. My Y6-quad was so stable on stable mode, and alt_hold mode with firmware 2.5.3, but is not so stable on loitering or position hold. So i decided to Upgrade the…"
"Ok I added the code, but for some reason, it's saying the function is used, but not defined. I know the function is defined in sensors, but the compiler isn't finding it.
I know this is just some weirdness with includes and defines,…"
"Is there a shortcut to send a mavlink command to reinitialize the barometer from the GCS? I'm flying in HIL simulation using an arduino mega and there's no way to put in stick inputs because I'm trying to set it up as completely…"
"Thnx for the reply Rand,
Yes, i have armed the motor as you mention and i followed every step that Malcolm Churn has on his manual page. that was lots help.
I do also have a sonar installed, that works fine. and the mission…"
One thing you should do is "arm the motors" just like on a quad by holding throttle down and rudder fully right for about 5~6 seconds. This re-initialises the barometer and in the case of a quad…"
"Thanks Brad for the Reply, I am in the process of Testing, i got the 450 going and it had to do something with the PID settings. Also the Mission planner has a big thing to due with it. I started useing the 1.0.42 version and its not as fancy as the…"
"Hi you could try to unplug the motor from the esc and and check to see if the collective servos are moving (the swash plate should move up and down with the throttle ) you still should have it strapped to a bench at this stage of testing.PID,s…"
For the past week I came across with the problem where my Heli is not Takeing off after doing my final PID adjustments in latest MP( wHEN I MEAN TAKE OFF I MEAN IT WON'T GET OFF THE GROUND EVEN WHEN REV'ED UP AT MAX). On the work bench i test all settings with my props off and all seems well, but when i get ready to test my Heli outdoor it just doesnt want to take off. i had this problem before, and all i did was reset the APM and entered all the PIDs, but this time not even that works. Have you checked the all your switches on your controller to see if your autopilot is on? Or try plugging your Pin 8 ( autopilot control) into other available channels on your receiver that might work properly with your setup.…"
"I was having the same problem, and i have the whole setup with ArduPilot Mega IMU board (OilPan). I had loaded the latest APM Software and it did exactly as you mention on your post... it will try to connect and after several Dots and waiting.. it…"

I am a very creative person and just getting into Traditional Heli, i think it would be an excellent experince and hobby to get into. i love the outdoors and travel here and there, where the crowd tends to be to join for fun. I have been flying the traditional for a few months already and i am loveing it.
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I ve built a few planes and Rc Cars in my past, from diffrent materials like, styrofoam, light metals and light wood. This is more of a challenge and more technical, I have some experince in C programming and Avr Programming, I have a degree in Mechincal Engineering and Electrical Engineering and this is where i can use these skills for fun and not just for work. I want to try to help out in problem that other hobbiest.
