Some thoughts from an RC guy who flies electrics. You can still probably get the max flight time from a nitro engine,
and just maxing out the size of the gas tank. I don't like the noise and mess, so I fly electrics.

"I have to make the obligatory comment that flying out of line of sight is illegal in most countries (including the UK) without special regulatory approval. So I'm just going to assume that you're not doing this in any regulated airspace."
