""The NMEA Manual for" this unit is severely lacking. It is probably the most poorly documented unit I've seen in my 22 years of playing with GPS units. Even if you have a manual for "a" 3329, you may not have the manual for…"

"That is a lovely idea, except that the DIY Drones version of the MTK3329 does not support this command, unless they have made an undocumented change. When you issue this command, the unit replies: $PMTK001,390,2 Which means the command was…"

"I was wrong...  The command should be... $PMTK390,0,1,4800,0,1,0,1,1,1,0,0,0,2,9600*38 The last 9600 is the RTCM data rate and shouldn't be important to you.  I highly suggest you read the NMEA manual for your unit as there are lots…"

"Try the PMTK390 command instead.  This should save the setting permanently.  YMMV e.g. $PMTK390,0,1,9600,0,1,0,1,1,1,0,0,0,2,4800*38"

">Do you have any solution how to keep my settings? There is only one way: Maintain 2 to 3V on the Vbackup pin on the module (not the adapter board). The good news is that this unit resets to a known configuration when it loses power. The bad…"

"Ken,I have no problem with update rate change. I use Realterm software and everything is OK. My problem is: When I disconnect the MTK GPS from the battery and then I connect it again, the GPS is with the default settings (1 HZ update rate).Do you…"

"> do i use the TXpin, sending a string $PMTK251,4800*14 to it? Yes, if 1) you are using NMEA (not binary) mode. 2) your GPS is connected to "the" TXpin. If you have a mega, are you sending the string out the right tx port? 3)…"

"You could use SoftwareSerial http://arduino.cc/hu/Tutorial/SoftwareSerial Rather than using an on-chip UART, it processes serial comms entirely in software, one bit at a time."
