APM data over telemetry

Hi Folks, I'm looking for a way to integrate telemetry data into a custom software project, for use in ground station processing of aerial images. Specifically, I need GPS coordinates and body angles of the aircraft in as close to real time as possible. I'm just getting started in programming with the serial port on the ground station computer, and I'm wondering if anyone can offer me any guidance as to how to proceed. Here's what I have so far: - I can open the serial port and display data at…See More

Adding a second telemetry ground module

Hi Folks,I'm currently working on a UAV using the APM as our primary flight computer. The drone is primarily to be used for surveillance and target detection/identification, all of which we are performing on a windoze box at the ground station. Due to the highly interactive nature of the ID process we've developed, we've elected for a ground station setup which uses two operators and two separate computers: one responsible for target tracking and the other in control of the vehicle. This leads…See More

Camera Stabilization/RC Targeting Input Mods

Hey guys,I'm looking to setup a pan/tilt gimbal, stabilized by the APM, with targeting input from the video operator on the ground. (Note that the video operator will NOT be the guy flying, hence my post here :). We want to have one guy 'flying' and monitoring aircraft attitude and flight path, and another responsible for video operation and target location. The idea is simple: I want the video guy to have an easy to use interface to point the camera. Could be a joystick, or even a few keys on…See More

Hello all,I am currently working with a team at CSU Fullerton to design and implement a UAV system. We are designing just about everything: from the airframe and related systems to the onboard image processing capabilities and more. At this stage in the design, I've run across a bit of a road block that I'm hoping you folks can help me clear. The ordeal is this: onboard our UAV, we will have two computers running. One will be the APM (we have my personal v2.0 for testing right now, hoping to…See More
