"Hi Melvin, Check this guide and the source code in the bottom of that page. There is some code to execute some actions based on the waypoint the drone is currently heading to. You could store the next_waypoint in a variable and as soon as…"

Javier Cerna replied to Andy Fabian's discussion How to control yaw rate and yaw accel in auto?
"I know this thread is a year old, but I was trying to figure out the difference as well, and I found the answer in the code changelog: So, ATC_ACCEL_Y_MAX controls the max acceleration in manual flight modes, while ATC_SLEW_YAW controls the yaw…"

EKF velocity error before Auto flight - Copter 3.4.6

Hi,I was flying a new quadcopter on Friday to test the Auto flight mode. I had a successful first mission and I tried to replicate it. Since my last waypoint was facing the opposite direction from takeoff and the RTL kept this heading, I manually rotated the copter to face the initial takeoff heading. In that moment I saw that the EKF text in my flight HUD became red, and when I clicked it I saw that the velocity bar was completely filled with red (the image below is just for reference since I…See More

Javier Cerna replied to Venkatakrishnan's discussion Why the drone Crashed ?
"Did you configure all your mandatory hardware as mentioned in the documentation? The throttle values sent by your radio seem really weird, unless that was you turning on and off the remote several times. Other issue could be that your barometer…"

Andre K. replied to Javier Cerna's discussion Copter crashed unexpectedly
"yes, something, likely an ESC , worked "randomly"  , seems like more and less, not hetting full throttle demand, just making it hard to control:"

Javier Cerna replied to Venkatakrishnan's discussion Why the drone Crashed ?
"It's somewhat difficult to say what exactly happened without more information. The graph is cluttered with radio failsafes and so it changes modes from Loiter to land to RTL and it's not that clear what were you trying to do. Can you…"

Javier Cerna replied to Venkatakrishnan's discussion Why the drone Crashed ?
"Hi, By using the Auto Analysis tool from Mission Planner, I got the following results: Moreover, it seems you had really weird accelerometer values in the Z axis. As mentioned in the results above, you may need to calibrate your accelerometers…"

Copter crashed unexpectedly

Hi,I've been flying with my large quad for almost a year, and I've never had an issue with the motors, until a couple of days ago. The quad was flying in auto mode in an area where I have already tried a few times, and it was behaving correctly. Then, when it was going back home, it reached one of the last waypoints and I saw the copter loosing power and then suddenly crashing.I suspect the issue was that one ESC was not giving enough power to the motor, as seen in this part of the log. I can…See More

Javier Cerna replied to Javier Cerna's discussion Maxbotix EZ4 Sonar in quadcopters
"As a side note, which affordable rangefinder would you recommend that has been also tested with the arducopter firmware? The ones I found where around $400 - $600,which is much more expensive than all the sensors I currently have on my quads"
