I ordered the MT3329-02 GPS module from 3DR and it was dead on arrival. I talked to several people on the forums and they agree it was DOA. I did not see anything on an Oscope or logic analyzer as…Continue
"Sorry to hear about the problems, and glad that they seem to have been resolved. I think you had the bad luck to hit this issue right when the 3DR email system went down (it's back up again). Please let me know if you have any other issues with…"
"just for the record, you should always email Support@3droboticsfor support and issues like that... emailing sales@ will result in a lot of delays...
(Just saying, I do not work for 3DR but I have similar system here at CanadaDrones and sales…"
"3DR is going to refund my money once they receive this unit and verify it was truly DOA. I'm glad they finally stepped up to the plate with good customer service. It was frustrating that it took over a month and three emails and…"
"I contacted 3DR on 6/27 and 7/03 and did not here back from them until 8/6, thats more than a couple days. That is unreasonable. I know it is not their fault for the DOA part and they are now taking the correct steps with an RMA.…"
"It takes 5 minutes to test a GPS unit. Hook up a serial ttl adapter and look for serial data. If you get nothing then it's dead. No need to waste a bunch of time on it, so you can't blame 3DR for that.
"I have been trying to use it with the Sparkfun UDB4 board. So I have been on the forums over there and several of the people have walked me through the DOA verification. I am an EE so I was able to understand the datasheet and what…"
"Hmm... you didn't post anything here.
Did you properly power the unit and check for serial output?
3DR support is usually pretty good. Dead components happen sometimes, but 3/4 of the time it's user error.
I ordered the MT3329-02 GPS module from 3DR and it was dead on arrival. I talked to several people on the forums and they agree it was DOA. I did not see anything on an Oscope or logic analyzer as far as any kind of signals. I have contacted the sales department 3 times via their email address and they are ignoring me. Not only is 3DR selling products that do not work they refuse to talk to the people with the broken units. Now I have spent my money on junk and cannot get a refund because…See More
"Pete, thanks for all the help. Yes I was looking at the schematics but was also looking for a CH3 or throttle pin which I didn't expect to find. I have been wanting to use a SVN for a while so it looks like this is…"
"Pete, thanks for your help, hopefully I will get it soon.
The servos I have used the past go from 1-2 ms and have a center freq of 1.5ms. I am assuming that is what you meant. A 40Hz signal would have a period of 25 ms so I am pretty…"
"Yes I go t the message "Programming... Programming/Verify complete". I am going through the forums and other docs that I have to try and figure out what pin the throttle is on. The options file says ch 3. It also…"
"Ok, I got to page 13 step 10 from "UDB4 Quick START GUIDE.pdf. When I follow these instructions to a "T" it does not program. When I click "program" the red LED goes off on the UDB4 board and the STATUS LED on…"
"Great, thanks. Yes that worked. I just had to re-point the path as you said. I thought it was something like that but did not know what I had to point. Thanks for letting me know the problem was in the "Select Language…"
