"Its been a while since i've partitioned a drive but it usually requires a clean drive to create the partitions, than load up the separate sections as if they were different drives. The desktop will appear to have separate drive icons and they…"

"question. I have mac book pro and have wanted to load up bootcamp but am scared about the partitioning part. Is it safe to do after the fact or is bootcamp best to get going on a clean install of osx."

"My old iBook just died and I was thinking of replacing it with an iPad since I use it for mobil commo mostly. So getting an MSI laptop for this function seems like a good move. I'm upgrading my G4 mini to a 2010 duo which I could make field…"

"Im a Mac guy, my primary computer is an iMac but for my UAV I use a $400 MSI Windows laptop. That being said, Boot Camp on Mac works very well, its easy to use, and if you already have a Mac laptop its definitely cheaper to buy a copy of Windows…"

"The Spektrum telemetry kit won't do you much good, since it doesn't work with APM. You should get the new 3DR Telemetry kit, which will connect to a laptop and give you full autopilot control as well as full aircraft and autopilot…"

"John, So, my feed back is to go into telemetry as a first step. So, at the risk of really showing my ignorance, what exactly does that entail. I can upgrade to a Spektrum DX8 and get the telemetry gear and my batt voltage, temp, RPM, and signal…"

"I also recommend adding the telemetry before adding a camera. You mentined Mac interface, I dont think the Mission Planner has a Mac version. Youd need to run a PC emulator or Boot Camp."

Profile Information

About Me:
In my teens I made stick-built free flight pylon contest planes. Born and raised in Hollywood, California, I found myself in marketing and mgt. in wired communications in the defense industries. The political tumult of the sixties transformed me into a "back-to-the-lander" and so I have lived the past 40 years in the Pacific Northwest. I achieved a high quality of life, in a beautiful place while being "part of the solution" most of the time. I live and fly in the bush, most of the time.
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I have been flying electric RC planes for six years and operating an aerial photography business for five. My primary customers were Parsons RCI Inc. a global construction company and the Idaho DEQ. I am now exploring moving up to equipment with auto pilot capability and operating for wild life tracking and the DEQ clean-up sites within the emerging FAA rules. http://calljerry.biz/aerialphotography.html
