Bill Bonney replied to Jimmy Prouty's discussion Can I use an APM 2.5 without the Power Module?
"Yes. You just need to use the power from the internal BEC in your ESC. Just by connecting it to the board you connect it. You do need to add JP1 jumper. It should have been supplied in a small bag with your…"

"Hi Eduardo. No, it's a proprietary EPP/fiberglass hybrid tube.  It's extremely strong and very light.  This plane's all up weight with 6000 mAH battery is 4 lbs ready to fly. Jimmy"

Jimmy Prouty replied to Kurt Kreiger's discussion APM 2.5, SkyWalker, Nikon s9300, TetraCam ADC Lite
"You shouldn't have to use any stabilization with the TetraCam. They are typically only used on sunny days which will increase your shutter speed. One factor you'll need to consider is your altitude and ground speed. If you're low and…"

"ADC Lite is very easy to setup and trigger remotely.  I have them in our O2.  All you need is a relay that shorts the ring and tip of the trigger jack and it will work just fine."

Jonathan Price replied to Jimmy Prouty's discussion Antenna Tracking with HKGCS and 360 degree pan servo?
"That conversion turns a servo into a continuous-rotation drive. Basically, if you command left or right, the servo just keeps turning left or right forever, rather than stopping at any particular point.  They're used on the wheels of small…"

HKGCS and Joysticks?

Hi Guys. I've gotten my antenna track working and Atto talking with HKGCS and want to see if I can get the joystick function working. (REALLY LIKE THE GCS!!!)My next challenge is that I can't get the GCS to find my joystick (Logitech 3D Pro or my Logitech game pad).  Both are properly installed and show up in Device Manager with no issues but when I go to the joystick tab on HKGCS is has "No Joystick Found" and I can't figure out what to do.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.JimmmySee More

Foamaroo Spin Tests

Posted on March 13, 2012 at 10:00pm 9 Comments

We're continuing to fly the Foamaroo and are constantly amazed by what it will do.  I wanted to try using a flat spin as a failsafe/abort system for the plane and actually tested by spinning it until it impacted the ground.  My suspicions were correct - I was able to pick up and relaunch the plane after every flat spin and impact.  Only damage was a slightly loose…

After a short trim flight I was able to launch…
