Mission Planner Circle Tool Center

The Auto WP circle tool in MP is awesome, but how do you determine where the center will be? It seems to go off generally in a NE direction for a random distance and then draws. Is there a rule?Continue

Mission Crash!!! DejaVu all Over Again...

At the end of last year I was starting to get comfortable with missions, but one step forward, two back....Loaded 3.0rc1 and was very happy with loiter, stable, etc. I then set up a simple square mission at 5 meters - it loitered 10 seconds at each corner, then landed I waited long past gps lock to get a good fix. WARNING -- DANGER -- FOLOW ME MODE TESTING

I recently posted my test of follow me, and it ended very poorly - basically, after trying to get out of follow me mode it just hovered and eventually fell like a rock.I have been testing for over 2 yrs now but this is the first time among countless versions and crashes that it ever just hung 100'  right over my head (very unnerving!) and I had no control at all. In the past any bad situation could be recovered by flipping to stabilize, but not here. There was no autorotation and it smashed…See More

Follow Me Problem

Inspired by Marco, I just tried 'follow me' mode, with latest Andropilot and 2.91b.First I loitered  (very smooth) and then flipped to 'follow me' on andropilot. Like magic it started following me, but kept rising. I flipped to stabilize and was able to come down.I foolishly tried it again and it started rising so I went to stab, and had no throttle control, it just loitered. I turned off follow me and it just sat there. I then switch modes, and it stopped and fell like a rock. I got a little…See More

Excitng First ArduCopter Mega Mission!

Posted on May 18, 2011 at 11:04am 2 Comments

I finally got up the courage to try a mission with 2.05. I set up a very simple mission - takoff to 10 meters, loiter time 60, land. All the coords were very close to each other so it should land about where it took off. The first two times I started the mission, it went up a few feet and then bounced around the ground like it was at altitude and loitering. The third time was very different - Up it went very high - seemed like more like 100' rather than 10 meters - and I was sweating bullets.… Continue

Hi John,

I know this might seem random. But I just got a quadcopter myself and live in Denver. I am having some issues getting mine to take off properly and was hopping you might be able to help me out. This is why I made the friend request.
