"@Jeff, That's great to hear!  Better then I expected to hear.  I'll definitely work on flying with an APM.   Another question, I remember reading of using a simulator in connection with the APM somewhere.  I have the…"

"I've been working on adding APM 2.0 to a 6WD rover.  The mechanicals need work still.  I also have a Trex 450 that I built (kit), but haven't flown yet as I don't yet feel like I can fly the simulator.  After hearing…"

"If a near-by motor drawing up to 20A has very little or no affect on a compass, then why does re-bar underground and electrical wiring have an affect?  (or so I'm told). Alan KM6VV"

"@John, Yeah, I got that, but it's sitting right above.  Maybe just put it up on some standoffs?  seperation is good.  Electric fields, magnetic fields, and just a lot of noise (maybe no brush noise, but 3-phase switching). But…"

"@John, Maybe move the RC radio up front, and put the APM2 where the radio was, or even back behind the camera. Is that a 3D camera/radio? I'd also consider bending up an aluminum 'U' to go on upside down, and provide a shelf for the…"

"How about the compass?  Has anyone tried moving it up and above the 'bot?  It's probably more subseptable (sp) to magnetic influences from the 'bot then the GPS.  However, it is not on its own cable. Alan  KM6VV"

"@Thomas, Yes, one could do that.  Problem is, what GPS are they using, and did they get it in accurately? Hence the desire to take my own coordinates. Regards, Alan KM6VV"

"@John, I was initially thinking there might be a way to put a switch on the 'bot to simulate an R/C "waypoint" switch.  And if so, I could make up a portable APM/UPS board with possibly a 3D radio link to allow me to save a set…"

"@John, Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I think the plan would work without major rewrites.  A UNO, LCD and a GPS (remote station) could handle the GPS, but it's the APM that wants to record the data.  So I'd have to…"
