Hi Friends,I am having APM 2.5 in my RC aircraft and i need to measure how much power is being consumed by various units in the a/c like the motor, servos, RC receiver and the APM 2.5 itself. And i…Continue

Hi Folks I tested out the APM 2.5 in the weekend, the first flight went down in manual mode even before the stabilise mode is switched on. The second flight went well in stabilise mode and i adjusted…Continue

APM plane tuning problems

Dear All,I am a newbie here. I have a BWB platform which flies really well with manual control. With APM in the loop, i m facing certain problems wen i was following the PID tuning guide. I have increased the Pitch 'P' value until it starts to oscillate and halved it; same for Roll 'P' too.  When i fly in FBWA mode, the flight responds very well to my inputs in the roll & pitch up to bring back the aircraft into stable position without any overshoots but i am not getting any responses when…See More

"Hi Bill, I am getting a hang of it now. It does not happen during flight, i see the extreme PWM out values from the APM during bench test only. During bench test, if RTL is engaged, the servos move to the extreme ends (min or max) and PWM outs go…"

">the APM would send PWM outs within this range Yes, But my understanding is that when you calibrate the radio, Mission Panner sets these limits based on your stick movement. If you can push the servo to far when using your RC transmitter, APM…"

"Hi Bill, So if i set these limits, the APM would send PWM outs within this range, so any over working of the servo would be stopped. Am i right? I am kinda getting lost"
