"I apparently wasn't very careful when I checked. I had the power reversed from the PDB to the ESC. Fixed that, swapped in a new ESC and all was well ... until I flew into a tree. :)"

I got smoke from my ESC on motor 1 and the insulation on the thin ground wire from the 3 wire connector that goes to the PDB melted. I checked my PDB for shorts and didn't find any. "Well, you've got something hooked up wrong or the APM board facing the wrong direction. At any rate, it won't fly until you get this straightened out, so please run through the instructions again. "

I got up to the point of rotor direction and set the spin direction on my motors. I then ran the motor test in cli mode and they all spin, but in the wrong order.
