DX8 Connection to Receiver without Comms

Hi, I have heard by word of mouth that it is possible to directly connect a Transmitter such as the Spektrum DX8 to a receiver such as the AR8000 directly. I am interested in this operation in order to remove the communication component for testing of the system. I am told it is possible through the trainer port but I am not sure how it would be connected to the RC Receiver. If anyone may know more about this subject please let me know. Student member of the UVic AERO Team. Interested in all UAV systems, but mostly in the electrical design and control implementation. I've been involved with two plane designs with the team, and I am currently assembling and testing my first Hexicopter.

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
