Gyro drift issue

Started this discussion. Last reply by Tom Nov 2, 2011. 8 Replies

With Ardupirates and earlier versions of Arducopter I had a problem with gyro drift. I thought this was not a problem with the 2.0.46 version I'm running now, but I have started to notice it again…Continue

Faster roll on camera gimble

Started this discussion. Last reply by Kristian Oct 7, 2011. 2 Replies

Camera gimble works well in tilt direction, but I need it to move more on the roll axis. If I tilt the quad 20 degrees, the camera gimble only tilts around 10 degrees, so it's not level.I guess I…Continue

Need more throttle/thrust!

Started this discussion. Last reply by Bryan Schwartz Dec 16, 2012. 19 Replies

With Ardupirates code my quad had lots of thrust available to carry camera. It was unstable if giving full thrust, so I had to turn down the thrust to about 75% by adjusting throttle Endpoint(EPA) on…Continue

"So I realize I'm reviving and old dead thread, but after much searching I couldn't find an answer to this problem that suited me. I understand the need for headroom for stabilization, but in my case there was way too much being reserved,…"

"Maybe the old props was upside down? You would still be able to fly with props the wrong way, but the efficiency is much lower.  "

David Karim replied to Kristian's discussion Need more throttle/thrust!
"So I never figured out a parameter that helps increase thrust. Maybe there isn't one. But I did figure out my problem. I had at least one weak propeller. I switched out a couple of the regular 10X45 propellers and all of a sudden I am taking…"

Kristian replied to Kristian's discussion Need more throttle/thrust!
"I think this is only used internally. When flying the controller saves the value needed to hover into the TRIM_THROTTLE. I don't think it makes any difference changing this."

"I have a similar problem... The only way to get mine to fly right is use 10" props...  The yaw works perfectly.. But it has no power barely lifts off... Then I put 12” props and but then any yaw input it becomes very…"

"Kristian, did you ever find out what the TRIM_THROTTLE is for? I am having lift issues on my new copter also. I have a standard 3DR frame with the 850 kV motors and 3S Lipos and it gets to a point (at full throttle) where it just barely wants to…"

"Ok? I don't get it. I own a webshop where my customers use Paypal every day. I also use Paypal as a buyer several times a week. It's a win-win situation. Never had any trouble."

"I have some other quadcopters with 5V lines from all the ESC's connected. Never had any problem with these. A diode may be a good idea, but this will bring the voltage down a little? I have gps/mag. No sonar. The continues tone from…"

Kristian replied to LIM Hun Pheng's discussion AC2 Crash Log
"I grounded all ESC's to the APM, and connected two of the ESC's +5V lines to the APM. The reason why I connect two +5V lines form ESC's to APM is to have some redundancy and more available current. I know this means…"

Kristian replied to Gareth Rens's discussion Extra Mode request for Jason Short
"I run 2.0.49 and I can adjust height in alt.hold mode using throttle stick. The only problem is that I have to give 100% throttle to activate this, and it's very violent behaviour. There is no in between, just full power upwards."

"It's not possible to store the values. When I reboot the settings are gone. Compiling and uploading with arduino, followed by erase and reset through the cli and APM planner did not fix the issue. But hten I tried uploading new firmware…"

"I loaded 2.0.49 and reset everything. The 4 blank sections are still blank. Why? I haven't saved these values, so I have a problem finding values that kind of works. Anyone got some values for me that I can start of with?  "
