"Hi Lee, check power consumption for your usb trigger. APM allows no more than 500mA total. It's not bad idea to power directly from APM if it takes no more than 50-100mA, otherwise it might be dangerous. I did the similar thing, you can…"

Camera triggering

Hello,I am trying to trigger a canon camera using its usb.  I am planning on using a PicoSwitch connected to my RC, but am wondering whether I can safely use a 5v supply from the APM in order to power the usb trigger.  Is this a bad idea?  I've tried the servo hack method but without success.Regards,Lee.See More

"Hi Martin, I've ordered some from  eBay .  Halfords only do a 300 set of different sizes for £7-99 which is a bit of a waste as I'll never need the others ;)   My quadcopter is still wandering 45 degrees to the left…"

"Thanks  for all your replies.  I've been working through your suggestions and it does turn out to be caused by a defective propeller in position #4 (in my X setup).  I replaced #2 and #4 with new propellers and it cured…"

"Did you balance your props? Are the filter pads on the APM IMU soldered? Did you run the level command to set the level of the copter? How much do you have to compensate? 20%, more? Jason"

"Did anyone mention pitch orientation. Is it possible that you simply have to check the reverse box in the radio setup? The "hand test" that  Mike mentions will tell tell you if that is the case, Just be careful not to let the props…"

"Have you tried running the auto-trim calibration? Turn the copter on. Hold the throttle stick in the bottom right corner (like arming) for 20-30s. If you watch the three leds, they will blink in a pattern. Quickly fly the copter as steady as you can…"

Takeoff Stability

Hello,I have finally completed my arducopter.  All the bits telemetry, sonar and motors seem to work ok, but the one thing I can't seem to do is takeoff.  The front of the arducopter (in x configuration) seems to rise up before the back.  I can compensate using the controller and managed to get it up to about head height but I'm sure something is wrong. I've tried:1) Recalibrating the ESC's2) Recalibrating the RC controller channels3) Checked the centre of gravity4) Disassembled the arducopter…See More
