Hexacopter uncontrollable with firmware 2.41 after 2 flights perfect.

Hi, today I have gone to fly my Hexacopter with APM 1 Ardupilot 1280 magnetometer GPS and 2.41 firmware. It flew very well during the first and second battery, even when to high winds and fast flight, but the end of the second battery the Hexa has flown uncontrollable.I do not know why, the hexa had not control flying to the right but I had motor control, It wasn´t the transmiter. It was like the gyroscopes could not control the Hexa. All flights have been in stable.Any ideas? What is the…See More

"  First thing to do is use a separate BEC. Be careful, switched BEC can produce high amount of noise, and cause controler crashes or radio noise. They can trig more problems than they will solve.   I would recommand a good quality linear…"

"Hi All, I had some strange motor behaviour today One motor would only twich at low throttle settings while the others spin up just fine Suspecting a fault motor I swapped it for a new one - no change to the 'bad' behaviour This led me to…"

"I think it depends on where you want to go. For me its best not to plug/unplug any devices for FW uploads / CLI setups through USB. My ESC's obviously power the motors through the BEC connection. On pin one I measured PWM outputs at FW upload…"

"  Would'nt it be simpler to disconnect USB +5V ?   After all, there is no real need to power the board from USB port.    "

"The powerdrain does not cause the problem. With the diodes you just keep the one prop from spinning and prevent from USB power break down. ACM Issues 110 & 117 describe the problem.  "

"  I think that there is no absolute need for powerdrain sinking to trig problems, because the APM board is outputing PWM signals during reboot or firmware load.    "

"Gents My workarround is as follows: - Never connect the LiPo when connecting the USB - solder a diode between ESC + and APM. This way there will be now powerdrain from your esc and no motorspinning when rebooting at USB connection…"

"Rob, that's not the way I read it. The disconnect cable part is not a forth step, but a reminder of a standard procedure that we've emphasized before several times in the manual."

"Thanks for your answer. I think like you, it`s a hardware problem. I have reviewed all the welds and connectios and are ok.I fear it´s the Ardupilot. All outputs work well under the 8. Can I change the output number 8 by 10?  Or is…"

"  Yes this is not a code problem.   Nevertheless this is a safety issue and should be corrected. It is not good as well to have burned motors or ESCs. Some motors and ESCs can be higher than 50 or 100 $ each.   It is possible that…"
