Power tolerance on APMv2 from BEC

"Hi This is good news! It looks like something very similar can be done on APMv2, except that there is a convenient resistor to remove (R3) giving a pad to connect the battery to. I'll probably go a step further by using a 1F SuperCap in place…"

"Follow-up: With a 15R load (so 0.33A) the Turnigy BEC's voltage drops to 5V. What current does the APMv2 draw, please? Hmm. This may be worth making a multimeter probe for. (Way make one? I'm disabled, with dodgy hands, and I don't…"

Power tolerance on APMv2 from BEC

Hi *I want to add a BEC into my Quad as I'm getting a marginal voltage from the ESC's onboard BEC. The ESC/BEC gives me 4.7 as measured on the APMv2 and I'm nervous of reboots and drop-outs, so I got a Turnigy 5V/3A dedicated BEC. Problem is, its measured open-loop output voltage it 5.27 volts. Normally I'd use this (I have some digital experience), but after a few dire warnings about not "over-volting" the APMv2, I'm checking here.Is 5.27V too much? Will it take out the APMv2?I'm aware of…See More

"Andy, The flow sensor has been relocated on the APMv2, and is currently advertised as "supported in 2.6+". I'm hoping that a patch release will provide this support earlier, if 2.6 is going to be delayed for any reason. M"
