Greetings: I am using a 3DR X8, Pixhawk with a NEX5 for standard mapping/photogrammetry. I want to map a cliff face. Is it possible to create an autonomous flight in Mission Planner that will…Continue

"Has anyone figured out a good way to map a vertical surface? Ideally we could use a lidar range finder to maintain a constant distance from the cliff wall."

"I gave up on the Stratosnapper. Here is a link to a video that shows everything you need to do the same thing as the Stratosnapper but using a Flytron IR trigger instead. Easier and less cost. https://youtu.be/UwLIiA7UM7g"

"Daniel: I have to agree with the others. This is one of the best "How To's" posted on this entire site. Very precise. Much appreciated. Can Mission Planner be substituted for Tower to plan and push the mission to the Solo? How long do…"

"RPM: Thanks for the feedback. I personally don't use Tower any more. Too many issues. It is also lacking in sophistication compared to Mission Planner. That said, 3DR's "official" stand is that neither Tower or Mission Planner…"

Marshall Cant replied to Peter M's discussion 3DR Solo for mapping/ survey/ precision ag
"I emailed and asked 3DR about Mission Planner. Their reply: NOT compatible and not supported and there is no waypoint functionality in the Solo app as in Mission Planner. That makes Solo, in my mind, just another (albeit sophisticated) flying GoPro.…"

"Hugues: When you set up the StratoSnapper using the GUI what do you set as the channels? The choices are Push Button, 2 Way Switch, 3 Way Switch and Stick. But since I will be having the APM control the shutter by DO_SET_CAM_TRIGG_DIST what do I set…"

Steve Zeets replied to Marshall Cant's discussion Autonomous "Vertical" Missions In Mission Planner?
"Marshall, You will need to travel back and forth along the wall as you climb up in altitude.  This way it will be a new waypoint so you can trigger a picture.  You will need to add a false point at the end of every other flight line so…"
