Martin commented on Emlid's blog post NAVIO: RTK demonstration
"Very nice. I know that it's just the beginning but It would be good to show the performance with respect to a reference GNSS receiver (e.g dual freq, surv. grade) and also demonstrate its performance under some dynamics. I am afraid that the on…"

Martin commented on Euan Ramsay's blog post dronelaws.net online
"Euan: I think in Switzerland  there is not any limitation under 500g. That is the reason why Sensefly's Swinglet is under this limit."

Martin replied to Darrell Burkey's discussion Need help with large multi rotor
"Hi, sorry for my late response. I tuned the param. only a little bit. Even with default pids it flies flawlessly. I am still on the 2.91 but both altitude and position hold are rock solid. Firstly I had really problems to tune the alt. hold and…"

Martin replied to Darrell Burkey's discussion Need help with large multi rotor
"I have a coaxial octo with APM, with Axi 2814/22, xoar 12x6 and E-prop 11x5 running it on 5 cells lipo. The total weight is 5kg. I fly only in manual mode and so far without any problem. I like how it behaves and I can directly compare it with my…"

Martin commented on Jegan M's blog post High Accuracy DTM Editing and Orthophoto of a Mining Area Using UAV Imagery
"This is nice, but what is the absolute precision? 0.2 m GSD is one thing, but what is the RMS on the check points? You did not say anything about the UAV, if it was <10kg UAV and you used indirect orientation approach or big UAV with GPS/INS…"

"Exactly what I expected-no answers, just an advertisement for a processing service. Nothing special so far..."

Martin commented on Jegan M's blog post High Accuracy DTM Editing and Orthophoto of a Mining Area Using UAV Imagery
"How does the processing quality stay in comparison for instance with Pix4D, which is considered as a gauge of performance of the UAV image processing? You are talking about the resolution but what about the precision on the check points? How many…"

Martin commented on Georacer's blog post Hill Cruiser - An RC Model Autopilot
"Well done, I am looking forward to seeing some videos from flying. Just one thing. In your presentation, the small device in the picture in Hardware section is not barometer but DIY magnetometer. "

Martin commented on Daniel Portillo's blog post Results of two years of work.
"Nice platform and results. I am just curious, what do you mean by two years of intensive development? What is custom on it apart from the integration of APM into the standard model? It is not obvious from the video, Thanks"

Martin commented on Enoc Sanz-Ablanedo's blog post Geometric Camera Calibration for use in Photogrammetry
"I agree with Enoc, proper pre-calibration is still the key for a precise work. It might not be important if you are using poor zoom cameras but for instance with modern mirror-less cameras with fixed lenses it definitely makes sense. With the…"

Martin commented on Enoc Sanz-Ablanedo's blog post Geometric Camera Calibration for use in Photogrammetry
"Ho do you identify the targets? Manually or automatically?  Could you show us the positions of the cameras- did you stay only on the ground during the image capturing or did you also use something like a telescopic platform for taking pictures…"

Martin commented on Daniel Allen's blog post 12-Rotor with the RED Epic Camera
"It is really nice machine, but it is definitely not the first developed 12-rotor copter. The price is just insane. $49 000 without equipment? Using cheap Chinese T-motors (I am not saying that they are not good), standard Xoar props, I do not see…"

Martin replied to luciano's discussion APM2 AND MIN THROTTLE
"It is a great feature and I am used to have it from other boards. I am still wondering why it is not provided as a standard parameter. After landing and disarming I can easily see, that it is really disarmed and do not have try move the throttle…"

Martin commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post Watch out for the ....
"I agree, it was pilot error. No pre-flight check etc. But in the video 0.58 min you can see the smoke from the engine\ESC and probably due to this failure it started rotating around its axis and he was not experienced enough to handle this."
