Altitude hold and Position hold problems.

Hi,I am running an APM 1 with arducopter  2.8.1 tri firmware. I tried integrating the sonar and optical flow sensors. The sonar reports correct distances in the terminal sonar test mode but the moment the mode switch is set to alt hold, the tricopter starts rising and there is no stable alt hold. It flies well in full manual mode.Running the optiflow test code with the python program does show some image when the sensor is pointed at a bright light but with fluorescent lighting indoors at night,…See More

Y6 Build Info

A friend and I were building a Y6 Arducopter(APM1) on a 'Scorpion frame'. I understand that each arm of the Y has a pair of counter-rotating props that are developing thrust in the same direction(downwards). My question : If the lower prop is in the downwash of the upper one, wont it function at a substantially reduced aerodynamic performance, given the much lowered pressure above its blades due to the effect of the upper props? In that case, would'nt a hexacopter  exhibit better performance(…See More

"No. I was just trying many different config settings to see if any worked. It just happens that the xbee APM cable was repaired when the config file with the Legacy GCS setting had been uploaded. The telemetry is working fine even with that setting.…"

No wireless Telemetry Data

I just put together a UAV control system using an APM. This project uses 900MHz Xbee radios. THe APM is working perfectly and all functions ( atleast those that i tested on the ground) are working well. The unit is giving perfect telmetry data through the USB cable and HKS  can read and show me all the data. When I connect the Xbee radio , there is no telemetry data available. Here is a list of what i did -Used XCTU and followed the tutorials to update the firmware and setup the Modem VID ,…See More
