OMG! What a video! This is simply amazing. Bill, you have created a monster! Congratulations to Adam Barrow, Adam Bellchambers, Pete Holland, Ben Levitt for fine tuning the code, this is the biggest breakthrough in DIY IMUs I have seen so far. I am…

Here is a really cool video that explains in simple terms the complex world of RF patterns. This was posted on RCGroups by Andology. You can view it online or download it to view it offline.

Phenomenal invention. I love how Henri calls it a toy when in reality, it is the most advanced little quad out there. Outstanding. This thing will sell like hotcakes.

Great find Jonathan, looks promising. I like the 12 bit ADCs and the crazy number of inputs. This thing has potential for sure.

Picture next to current Ardupilot for size comparison please please please! (Add temper tantrum noises...)

Gilles, maybe you can use this to use AVR on the spare 6 pins on the board: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=12 Check with Sparkfun to be sure.

Bonsoir Gilles, To program this board, you will need Arduino IDE: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software You do not need AVR to program this board unless you want to modify the bootloader, I am not sure this will work with FTDI. Maybe send a quick…

Great find Faisal, looks interesting an very capable. Reasonably priced too. No need to buy the Dev kit, the manual explains how to configure it via serial commands, that's good enough for testing.

A choice of different graphic layouts would be great, specially for the Horizon Indicator, something that would resemble more real aircraft instruments, that would be awesome!

They also have the 5V version but that won't work. You can get a USB cable from the DIYstore that has the FTDI chip built in so you can use it to power the board at 5V and transfer serial info to the TX/RX pins at 3.3v level. http://store.diydrones.…

Paul, I was secretly hoping you would chime in to shed some light on the matter, I have had trouble wrapping my head around this concept. Many thanks for the clarifications and happy new year. Merci et bonne année 2010!

Vortex, I think a pitot is better than GPS. What makes an aircraft fly is airspeed, not ground speed. If you are flying at 40 mph with a headwind of 40 mph, your ground speed is 0 so the centripetal correction from velocity would be ineffective. In…

This popped up on RCGROUPS recently, unlimited rotation with the use of slip rings. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1159128 Very nice package, not sure how much it will sell for but it looks very capable.

Hi Carter, Make sure you voltage source is nice and steady. The analog out point should not fluctuate, unless you are outdoors and the wind is unsteady with gusts. Indoors, on a test bench, it should remain solid at or near 1V. Either the sensor is…

Now that's what a PFD should look like! Amazing.

Looks odly familiar, for sure the same chipset as the Remzibi OSD, and the same fonts.
