"I dont know the temp, but i can barely hold on to them for 2 secs. Having said that, changing back to the 3S and the 10" props helped, they are still hot, but not as hot. Will check if the motors needs tilting."

"Graham, I've moved the battery to where you suggested, same issue, that the 2 opposing motors get hot (now just the front one a bit more than the back one). Unfortunately I dont have a way to measure the watt to the motor. What I tried to ask…"

"Motors only draw as much current as is being demanded from them so if it draws more current at the same voltage then the prop will spin faster lifting that side up, but then the quad will try to level itself so it will stop that motor from…"

"Hi Graham, First off, yeah the battey looks a bit wierd there, but I've measured and re-measured, the CoG is basically between where the back white legs comes together, where the battery is currently, its CoG. Secondly on this foto, the top…"

"In this photo which motor is getting hot? So if you put a new motor on, the new one gets hot too, likewise a different ESC the same motor gets hot? Do you have any way of measuring current to that ESC/motor?"

"My Quad NTM 1000kv motors, 3S 3300mah battery and 30A esc. These are 11" props, but also tried my original 10" props, same thing. Total weight of the quad is 1.4kg and the thrust per motor should be around 0.8kg per motor."

"Now i dont know what to do next, I've exchanged everything back to the old ESC's, old motors and old battery and still the right back motor get extremely hot! All the APM stuff is done, leveling, radio calibration, etc. I maybe thought it…"

"Hi Graham, yes the ESC's are on FAST timing as the auto/medium didnt seem to work with the motors, they caused some very erratic speed ups and downs, making the quad unable to fly. Its NTM motors from Hobbyking. I've used them with great…"

"So the new motor got hot too, weird, is it's ESC on high timing by any chance? What motors are they? Going back to 3S will help of course, but it is odd that only one motor heats up. Another thought, a quad uses the motors for yaw control,…"

"Hi Graham, Yes, i've swopped out the motor with another one, did the same thing. I then went and redid the CG, so it is spot on, but same thing with the motor, within seconds of flights it hot as hell. Only thing I can still think of is to go…"

"Did you swop the motor or put a new one in? The CG should be at the center of the quad, but if it's back both motors would have to work harder but the variation in heat should not be that great unless the balance is really out. It stands to…"

My first APM and first H-Quad. Im am VERY pleased, this is the maiden, unfortunately its indoors as it was raining outside, but it is very stable. Using the default out of the box settings. Sorry for the bad video, had to use my phone and it has an old slow SD card in still.
