"I have a DX8 and 2.5 and it works pretty good. Just need some tuning on the APM side. If I can figure out how to download the setup then I can send it to you. Randy"

Randy Brazeau replied to Matt Mcloughlin's discussion Just starting out with this
"Do you want to build it or do you want "ready to fly"? You could buy a cheap $50 quad to learn which I didn't. I bought the one I wanted but took baby steps. Plenty of crashes and repairs but nothing serious. Just took it easy and…"

Randy Brazeau replied to mikel-ange Adelson's discussion Ardurover as a lawnmower in the group ArduRover User Group
"In my testing so far, I don't thing GPS will work without other sensors. GPS is good to about 3 meters if I understand correctly so it could leave strips of grass uncut. I plan to use GPS but to identify locations in my yard including the front…"

Randy Brazeau replied to mikel-ange Adelson's discussion Ardurover as a lawnmower in the group ArduRover User Group
"I will use GPS also but I need sensors. My goal was to turn it on and have it cut the lawn on its own. Just like the robot lawn mowers you can buy today. Another concern is the type of grass. Texas has this thick grass compared to the north. It will…"

Randy Brazeau replied to mikel-ange Adelson's discussion Ardurover as a lawnmower in the group ArduRover User Group
"I don't think waypoints will work. GPS doesn't have the resolution. I'm using sensors to detect objects and I was thinking about conecting it to a computer (maybe through Wifi) to detect color. I don't want it leave the lawn or…"

"Building the cable is not probs to me, but I'd prefer not to have to cut and resolder the 3.3 & 5V headers (I'm reluctant to open my brand new 2.5+ case full stop!) - am I just going to have to bite the bullet and do it?"

Randy Brazeau replied to Dave Kellum's discussion Yet Another Noob Who Can't Arm Their Motors
"What is your firmware? 2.9.1? I'm using 2.8.1 and haven't had that problem but I'm thinking it may be a feature in 2.9.1. I'm going to install 2.9.1 shortly. I assume you have done the radio calibration? What TX are you using? I…"
