Hi everyone,I put together a short list of many details that have gone into making a RPi quad. I have some pictures posted in my photo album. I'll get those updated soon as well as some video when I…Continue
"ReneeLov3, this is an exciting project. Will be folowing your endeavor closely.
I've been working on a similar concept to use the RPi. Started with a basic 5/8 channel ppm generator to be hooked up to a joystick for control of airplanes…"
"Things are slowly coming together. We are working on updating our software and FPV video streaming and recording. We added log file playback to our control center software and a lot more data is now displayed. I'll have to get a new screen shot…"
"I haven't posted much about the LED feedback we added some time ago and our PID values have much improved. So this is a video showing off the lights a little. At the end of each arm we wired in a 5mm RGB LED to the Stellaris. When no input is…"
"I have a few new pics to share.
We are still working on improvements when time permits. Just finished installing eflite park 450 motors and making custom motor mounts.
The new GPS module is working great. We added a sparkfun UART to…"
Sorry for the delay. I'm in the process of moving/unpacking at a new place.
Now a days we have an xbee pro for rf / controller input. In addition we use hostpad and connect to the quad's wifi hotspot.
"Hi. I finished to build my copter yesterday. And i broked all propellers :)
I have the flight base now and can start integrate RasPI into my copter.
I will use WiFi for the communication and webcam for FPV.
Also i will use existing MultiWii for…"
I've been building robots all my life. Always loved electronics and found programming later in life.
What brings me here is my first flying robot project (QUAD-FU).
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
Created and flying a Raspberry Pi Quad with a modified ps2 controller. The entire project has been created by scratch, with the exception of some purchased components (motors, IMU, RPi). All of the software has been created specifically for this project with the idea I'll have a whole fleet of various copters eventually.
I've never really flown before so that in itself is a learning experience. As funds become available and the QUAD-FU project advances I hope to be flying without a controller in my hand =)
