John, I tested my XY sensor that I am using as a z with the Infraredboards software from the google repository. From this I discovered that the sensors that were working were the ones on the P-P axis…

I have just spent about an hour trying to get a printout of the ardupliot code from the Arduino IDE. I cannot get the output to 'word wrap' so that, even using landscape format, some of the comments…

Does your easystar have the stock rudder and elevator? Mine, carrying a camera, has a rudder about 25mm wide and extending full height of the fin. I think that, because of this I will need to tweak…

Jason, A couple more pointers to my problem:- After calibrating CH1 & CH2 I get Remove Safety Flag gpsFailure... Remove Safety Flag Remove Safety Flag Although the GPS EM407 is working and outputting data. When locked in Failsafe mode and I switc…

Jason, firstly thanks for all your hard work in creating version 2.5. I have downloaded the latest version from SVN and am having problems with the failsafe (where have you heard that before?). It did work OK in the pre release versions, and I think…

Gary, Flying or Beer, Flying or Beer, Flying or Beer mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Terry tried to do a live feed last year but had 3 problems:- 1) No 3G signal in the middle of a field 2) No power supply 3) No sensible people to talk on it!!! A UK DIY Drones…

As I understand it the min position of the throttle is read at start up as CH3_TRIM. I am at a loss, however, as to how the maximum throttle value is entered (or read). I assume that it has something to do with the values in section 9 'Attitude: Thr…

Jason, Is there any way to save these animations (this one and Part 3) to hard disc so that I can run them off-line? I have downloaded the fla from the zip file but do not know how to run it. There was also not a zipfile for part 3. Keep up the goo…

The Arduino IDE is pretty poor regarding this. Try getting Textpad. In the options you can set to show .pde files as C-files, which in turn enables nice syntax highlighting. Also printing goes well. If I'm able to find the right commandline options…

Try using a real text or code editor. The arduino environment is horrible for coding more than a few lines. In the preferences select "Use external editor" and pick your favorite code editor. I'm on a Mac using BBedit. Anyone have suggestions for PC…

Thanks for the reminder John. I have all the hardware installed, bar the pitot tube, in my Easystar and am nearly ready for bench testing. I will make sure that everything works as it should in all modes. Richard

Thanks Chris. I have downloaded Eagle and looked at the v1.5 layout (assume this is the same as v2.x). There does not appear to be an easy way to get the signals without soldering to the chips but I will keep looking. Richard

Eagle is free and is the best way to follow the traces. A pdf of the board won't really tell you anything, since it's a two-sided board. Download it here.
