Did you check your battery after the flight?"

Hello!I was flying my 3DR hexacopter for the second time today. All went fine, loiter, circle, stabilize, alt hold etc. After 10 minutes I was loitering at 1-2 meters (3-6 feet) when all of a sudden the copter took off at 9-10 m/sec and cartwheeled into the ground. From start to crash it took 4-5 sec. The only thing that broke was a spacer between one of the legs (as far as i have been able to ascertain)I have a 5000 mAh 3S lipo and 6 880 kv motors.My question: Any guess as to what happened?…See More

My Futaba has a reduced power output function intended for range checks.On a regular copter/airplane this would be simple, just keep walking backwards wiggling the sticks an make note when the rudder movements cease or become erratic. Since my hexacopter doesn't have any moving control surfaces this isn't practical.I'm planning on hooking up a servo and then observe motion but is there a more practical way to do this?/RSSee More

"interesting that Sweden allows 15mW, whereas Europe generally allows 10mW. That won't make a huge difference in range, but every bit helps.

However, max output is 15 mW. Is that level meaningful in terms of range and reliability?
